My wonderful, inspirational son, Jacob was born with a rare brain malformation which affected him in many ways. He was not expected to survive birth, but we had 6 1/2 wonderful years with him which is a testament to his strength and determination. He passed peacfully in his sleep on the first year anniversary of his beloved sisters death.
Jake was a special little boy, special in many ways. Somebody once told me that everyone is born with a mission a job they have to do before they can move on to the next world. Anyone that knows jake, knows his mission, to spread love. I have never known Jakes kind of love before, pure, simple, unselfish love. Jake had the biggest brown eyes and a smile that would light up the room. You would look into his eyes and see into the very depths of his soul. The warmth and love Jake gave is is unexplainable. It ahs been my honour and privilage to be jakes mum for the short time his was with me. He taught me so much about life to see him laugh when you sing to him, smile when he sees those he loves. Life is about loving people caring for those you love. spread a smile in Jakes memory thats what he wanted.

A meeting was held quite far from earth,
Time again for another birth,
Said the Angels to the Lord above
This special child will need a lot of love.
Their progress may be very slow
Accomplishments they may not show
And they'll require special care
From the folks they'll meet way down there .
They may not run or laugh or play
Their thoughts my seem so far away
In many ways they won't adapt
And they'll be known as Handicapped.
So let’s be careful where they're sent
We want their life to be content,
Please Lord find the Parents who
Will do this special job for you.
They will not realise straight away,
The leading role they'll have to play
But with this child sent from up above
Comes stronger faith and richer love.
And soon they'll know the privilege given
In caring for this Gift from Heaven.
This precious child so meek and mild
Is Heaven’s Very Special Child .

A handicapped child has a special life,
But a lot of hard work and plenty of strife.
They may not walk or talk or play,
In their own world they’re locked away.
These children are sent from Heaven above,
They are Angels on earth for us to love.
Their time on Earth may only be short,
But there are lessons from them we must be taught.
Don't turn your back or walk away,
'Look at that poor child' I hear you say.
They’re not poor I want to yell,
They’re rich in love and doing well.
This poem of mine comes from my heart,
Jacob has died, I'm torn apart.
But his smiling face I will always picture,
A precious child, who made life so much richer.

its a year today you joined ur sister sarah and brother jorden at a special place, ur always in my thoughts and love you so much ur such a special little boy who brought alot of love into mine and everyones life, ur picture still takes pride of place in my room and i often just hold it and remember the fun times we had, my thoughts are with your mum and family today who love and miss you so much , ur a shining star a special boy xx
